Captian Ron movie fans

One of our favorite "sailing" movies is "Captian Ron". Whenever I do anything boat related correctly, I'll thow out the "Learned that in rehab, boss" quote.
So yesterday Jesse, our 13 year old son and my "crew" for the Pen Kalet boat move, asked how big the boat in the movie was.
I started researching. I had actually looked it up before, but had forgotten. I found an online discussion and the boats (they used 3 apparently) were Formosa 51s http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/open-d ... -8878.html. Farther down in that thread, they mention that one of the boats (Wanderer) is in Kemah, Texas and another (Windborne) is across the channel in Seabrook, Texas. Wow, I though, I was in both of those places on the boat move trip. Too bad I didn't know, I would have stopped and taken a look. Reading more of the thread, I saw that the Wanderer is docked at the Kemah Boardwalk. Once again, Big Wow, we were docked at the Kemah Boardwalk, If only I had known, I would have check it out. So close. Also in the the thread, there is a link to the ad where the "Wanderer" is for sale. http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1978/Fo ... ted-States The ad has pictures of the boat at her dockage at the Boardwalk. I'm looking at the pictures in the ad and seeing familiar landmarks in the background. Brother Darrell has pictures he took from the top of his mast looking down at the same parking garage that is in the background of the ad photos. Jesse is looking ath the ad pictures with me and says "Don't you remember making a comment about those fancy boarding stairs?". Yup, we were docked 4 boats down from the Captian Ron boat "Wanderer", and had checked her out several times without even knowing it. Huge WOW.
