Log book

Post by thepartydog »

Ok, how many of you keep a log book?

If you do, what format do you use for log entries, and what actions do you make log entries for?

Also what type of book do you use? Binder with loose leaf paper? Bound book?

As a builder of experimental aircraft, we tend to doccument everything. In today's age I'd do it on the computer, then print it off, 3 hole punch and stick it in a 3 ring binder. Partly for the gratification of a job well done, but also in case you ever sell it.

For example:
1) I fixed the rudder.

2) I removed, sanded, glassed and painted the rudder.

3) I removed the rudder, sanded to bare glass. Patched with bi-directional eglass and West 504 epoxy from lot number 23-574. Sanded to 200 grit, filled with microbead epoxy and sanded again. Pained with two coats blue marine paint.

Which boat would you like to purchase?
