Well, it's taken me a few weeks to find the time to get the trailer fixed up and glass the hole in the bottom of my boat, but I did it. As I mentioned before, each of the two times I have gone out with this boat, it turned bad. The first time the mast folded and the second time I found the hole on the keelson. This time, I managed to have a decent outing without woe. There was almost no wind (2knots at most) but my little lateen rig ghosted my wife and my 400 pounds (mostly mine, I hasten to add) around the lagoon for an hour. My fix had worked (even if it is uuuuuuugly at the moment).
On the 30th I got my epoxy/filler/fabric/gelcoat shipment so I can actually pretty it up.
I did screw up the rub rails horribly, though. That was a learning experience and I don't know how I will come back from it. The previous owner had epoxied them on, so getting them off pretty much wrecked them.
Oh, well. This is a great learning adventure.
