Beautiful work. I just mounted my depth/fish finder in that location and not have the back rest is a bummer.

Captain Bondo...what a great idea...I never thought about the bulkhead as a backrest...my install kinda goofs that up...recessing the compass also provides physical protection too...super solution to a vexing problem of mounting compass properly.

Very impressive indeed Great job capt. Bondo I was going to get the binnacle for my helm but that may have to wait a while unless I can find a salvage boat with one on it. $$$$$

The term "Blinding flash of the Obvious." Seeing this done right, slap the fore head. Say "I could have had a V8." Clearly this is the way to go and it will be added to my wish list.
Man that is truly a excellent idea, expertly executed, lovingly crafted.
