I made a verbal agreement to purchase a bigger boat last night. It's a Columbia 9.6 in very sound condition but needs some TLC and updates. We plan to sail her across the lake, Holland, MI to Racine, WI in a little over a week if the weather man is agreeable.

Copacetic will be for sale shortly, I just have some cleanup to do and finish up the trailer work I've been doing this summer. I'll keep you posted, as I'd really like to see her go to a good home.

I'll still check in here from time to time to see if I can offer any "been there, done that" advice, and just to get my Chrysler fix.

Of course I googled it right away ! You're going like the extra beam and no keel trunk in the way for sure !

By the way, Eric, manager at Crescent Shores Marina where we found our new boat, owns a 1979 Chrysler 26 with a red hull. It was about three boats away from the Columbia we bought. Dang Chryslers are everywhere! LOL

Great story, to bad you didn't have any wind to realy check her out.
But calm is good too...don't need any more enxiety with the new untested boat :P

I spent the better part of a week getting the brightwork in shape. I think it last saw varnish during the Clinton administration. Pictures and story on my website as always.

BTW, I used Cetol Naturual Teak and I think it came out nice, without the usual Cetol look.

Good story Tom...I like the Cetol Natural Teak also...I used it on my drop boards and new companionway hatch trim. Just a little scuff with a 3M green scrubbing pad between coats...no sanding necessary.

Beautiful boat and great story. I'm surprised there aren't more boats out there named Mcguyver.

I like the way the teak turned out. My bin boards will get that treatment this winter.
