What is the Square Footage for Bottom Paint on C-22?

Post by Zac Penn »

I want to refinish the bottom of my C-22 but I don't know the square footage. I am going to keep the boat in the St Johns river which will grow barnacles very easily. I am thinking about going with the WEST MARINE
PCA Gold Antifouling Paint with Irgarol and this stuff is too expensive to buy too much. If you have some better recommendations for bottom paint I am up for your suggestions.

Square footage

Not sure of the square footage but when I did mine I got it done with one gallon and had a bit to spare.

Was this a single coat or multiple?
I was hoping to get at least two coats on the bottom so I could leave it in the water longer before having to clean and recoat.

It has been a long time but I believe that I put two coats on it, on the keel and rudder I used something else for a primer though.

1 Gallon is more then enough for multiple coats and a good job.
