Hello, this topic may have been addressed but I could not find a post. I'm planning to convert my C26 to a fixed keel by filling the keel trunk and blending the keel foot into a keel fin. Saildata.com has ballast at 2000lb. Question: Is the keel fin 2000lb or is some of the ballast molded into the keel foot ?? I ask because my old C.M.22 had only a slighty smaller cast iron keel and it weighed 500lb. It's hard to accept that the C26's keel is 2000 lb. I'm not starting this project till next year and only currently in planningg stage. Thank You, Eddie.

I remember a thread about this from a while back, I had come up with a guesstimate of about 1100 pounds, while someone had seen it listed as about 950. Link to that thread is below

Thank you for the link Emergency E, it was very helpful. 500 is heavy , 950 is getting serious but 2000 just seemed beyond logic... Thx again , Eddie
