My husband just inherited a Chrysler C22, we live on a beautiful lake in Arkansas. We had a Catalina 22ft sailboat 20 years ago, however we are considering taking the mast off of the C22 and making it into a cabin boat. Is this safe to do? Would this cause the boat to be off balance or unstable?

If you take the mast off store it and all the rigging in a safe place so that you will still be able to sell the boat complete at a later date. Using the boat without the mast and rigging will be perfectly safe.
