Hi all,
Tying to figure out the bailer/drain situation in my Pirateer.
Am I understanding this correctly? The cockpit drains into the hull where it eventually finds another hole on the starboard transom?
What a ludicrous design! My plan is to fill the boat with closed cell liquid foam and install a couple of actual auto bailers.
Any insight here would be appreciated!

Re: Pirateer Cockpit drain/auto bailer
Did you ever do this?
Agree the automakers are wierd. Mine are caulked shut by someone.

Agreed - my Man-o-War has the same setup, and I ended up swamped due to lack of a bailer or drain.

My Pirateer (1979) has a wirelike fitting on the cockpit floor starboard side, just aft of the trunk. It is a drain that can be opened or closed. Mine leaks a bit when closed but it's a sailing dinghy. I can upload a photo if someone wants to see it...can't figure that out yet.
