wow! great job, looking good! Couple of questions... do you think the boom will clear the wheel? And the keel brackets, shouldn't the bolts heads be flush or countersunk in the side of the keel?

The paint on the bottom is Interlux VC Performance and the topside red is Interlux Brightside.
The deck has not been painted yet but I want to sail it a couple of times and make sure everything is where it works best for me before I put time into a paint job up there.
The bolts were supposed to be recessed however there is nearly 1" of extra space. The heads don't stick out very far and I put washers on both sides to hold the keel off the heads of the bolts leaving the plate it's full thickness. I tried to reason why they needed to be countersunk and could not come up with anything.
I stepped the mast this afternoon and the wheel is low enough however I will have to turn it around as it was originally because it interferes with the main sheet.

Cool idea using washers! One thing I will do if I EVER drop another keel again, is to install big plastic washers so the keel wont bang against the hull all night long. Your boat its really looking good.

I'm confused about the washers on the keel bolts, did you put something else down there to keep the keel from sliding over against the bracket bolt heads? Here's what I did anyway, and was wondering if you did something similiar...

I used stainless fender washers but I did consider something similar to what you did, I just did not have anything the right thickness. I also epoxied a piece of 1/2" hard rubber to the inside front edge of the trunk where it appeared the keel had banged against it a few times during lowering and done some cosmetic damage. If I come across the right material I may try something similar to what you have.
