New paint?

Post by Woody54 »

Has anybody here attempted to repaint their boat. I have a 20" Chrysler, funky gold color that has faded. I have no means to take it off the trailer but have that part figured out. What would be the best way to approach this?

Look down through some of the threads. I repainted my C-26 with awlgrip and documented much of it.

I used the 3M Restorer And Wax along with a buffer on my much faded and chalky C26 with surprisingly good results.

Do any of you have experience using non-marine paint on a boat? I've read a few time that a good quality exterior latex paint does the job very well. The logic being that company are making much more development on these paint due to bigger market. I have been told also of people using Corrostop Ultra, these paint have polyurethane in them, just like Interlux brightside, but cost 2 time less.
