While sailing around the lake the last few times I have noticed a huge decrease in the power boaters. Usually if the day is sunny there is a line at the ramp, now it is empty. There was however a ton of sailbaots out.
Anyone else notice this when you are?

On inland lakes when it is typically good sailing weather it isn't good water skiing or fishing weather. Choppy water from the wind doesn't make for enjoyable skiing nor does it entice the fish to bite.

That and the current cost of gas ! All of my bass fishermen type friends trailer a ways to the local lakes, most are staying home unless the conditions are going to be perfect for a good day !

Where I sail it is the only unlimited motor size lake. If it is not snowing out it is crowded with power boats.
When I first started sailing it was packed last year not so much. This year huge drop off. The weather has been a bit crappy for sailing when I have been out Zero wind, perfect for power boaters.
I am so glad wind is free!
