Hi All,
As of last friday night at 9:30 pm I am officially out for the summer sailing season.

I slipped on the boat ramp and ended up dislocating my shoulder. Next stop was the emergency room.
The ramp was mossy and I went to hook the winch and down I went.

Dr. said no sailing, golf, etc, till the end of august. :(

So keep sending your messages and your pics and I will live the season thru all of you! :)

Hope to get out on RonC c-26 sometime this summer. Sling and all.

I've hit the slippery moss myself a few times this season already but fortunately I've only injured my pride Hope you get better quickly, I'm not sure I would have the discipline to follow doctors orders though. I can't hardly sit still waiting for the chance to get out again as it is.

Oh, man that is news I hate to hear !

I too will have to admit I'd have a hard time with those doctors orders. But I live with a nurse (MSN, RNC) so I don't get away with much, either physically or mentally !

Your not really out all season, Our wind does not come back until then anyway.

Our summer and fall boating season is over. We pulled the boat out of the lake yesterday. In about 10 to 15 days all launch ramps on the lake will be out of the water. The lake is dropping about one foot a day. We could have kept her in the lake but sense we wanted to do some work on her this year like replace the liner in the cabin, and a few other things we thought we would pull her out now while we still could. Right now it is about 100 yards walk down the side of a hill to get to the marina and will only get worse as the lake drops. Right now the lake is down 176 feet from the top and will go down to about 250 feet from the top by December.

why is the lake dropping so fast? A foot a day? WOW

We have been in a drought the last two years, getting about 65% of normal rainfall. Thay release the water for the famers in Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys and for souther California. It is a state controled lake and sothern California gets most of the water.

How are you going to do that?

What condition warrants such a step?

I do have one small crack in the liner on the vertical face below the seat but just forward of where the bulkhead that the sidestay compression plate is attached to. I was thinking that an epoxy or polyester resin repair might take care of that, if it would stick to the liner material. What is the liner made of?

Is it held in at the hull/deck join? Boy that sounds really major.

FWIW I'm trying to do a little sailing before departing (washington NC) if the gas prices don't go thru the roof again (100 bucks to fill up my truck its a lot) Welcome to come if u are around.

Great News from ohio!!
I have gone thru the therapy for my shoulder. Still hurts but I am good to go as far as sailing goes.
I purchased a 9.9 Mariner w/ electric start so I and my wife can start it.
I had a shop pull the keel, replace the brackets,pin and the snubber,
Paint the bottom and buff the hull!! :)
Should look like a new boat.
Plans are to be on the water over the wknd!! Yipee!!!!
Been a LONG summer. I've been sailing thru all or your posts and of course Ronc and his c-26.
