I can't believe my luck to find such a wealth of information. I just picked up a 1975 C-22 that sat in a field for 15 years. My dream come true!!!
They sold it to me for a dollar as they were to old to enjoy her anymore.

I had grown up racing 6 metres with my grandfather and have missed that for about 20 years. I managed to windsurf since then, but since I had kids 1- 13 and twins 8. I had wondered how I would pass the tradition of sailing to them. This is perfect.

It didn't look like it was going easy to restore until I found this website.

I got my boat for free, but you know what they say.
There's no such thing as a free puppy, there's no such thing as a free boat!! :)

You will love it. We have had ours since june 07. C-22's are great boats in bigger waters.
I just replaced my keel brackets and pins this past summer. Found out they were almost rusted out completely and unsafe at that. If your boat was in salt water have them checked out. There are some on this site that have done it themselves.
You will get tons of good advice from this site and welcome again.

I also just got a C 22 , its a 1976 and I also have quite a bit to do. I traded a jet ski for it. luckily for me the guy had almost everything stripped off the boat , But it was for the most part labeled.

Last weekend I sanded the bottom and replaced the sealant around the keel.

Today I'm working on getting the toe rails back on.

I would like to stay in touch with your progress, Maybe we could share notes along the way.
