Season is over officially

Season is over for me I guess. They have the boat ramp closed and the lake is down to its winter levels. Perhaps 10+ feet. I decide to step the mast and tarp her. I was hoping to sail until the lake froze over. I lost an anchor last year and decide to try and retreive it since the lake is down and I lost it in relatively shallow water. I found the line and the tree is was stuck under. I could not get it to budge though. It is still under about 6 feet of water and while I could maybe stand the 45ish degree water to retrieve it I doubt I would have made the half mile walk back to the truck hypothermic.

Maybe a geting a dinghy on loan with a motor to go out to the anchor?

Beautiful shots! I'll be out tomorrow on the 75 22'. A bit nippy but still very fun!

Sailing season does not end for us. Sometimes the marine will freeze over and we are not allowed to move boats then but that usually only lasts days!

I spent a fw hours while on the boat trying to get it when it got jammed. it is down inbetween to roots that prevents it from being pulled in any direction. I tired off the line and will go back with my drysuit and dive for it before the lake freezes over. It is only a 100 dollar anchor so it is not a big deal, it is more of an adventure at this point. I guess I get bored easy!

this old salt says " let it go, looks too cold for me or you" however it could be a navigation hazard, but not for me 8) KS
