OK,
I have a tendancy to go a bit overboard
( a sailing term thus making this legal content LOL )
when it comes to Christmas Lights.

I figure since this directly affects my Chrysler 22 I figured I could show it here and see what ya think!

I made it many years ago and it has been a fantastic display on Destiny for years. This year I got a wild hair and thought I'd try it at home! My neighbors will should love it! It has always been very popular!

Was thinking of lighting the rigging on EE for the first time this year, but I ain't stepping that mast. Might could use the halyards to haul several strings up, then separate them and pull them over to the standing rigging one by one ?

Then use my new inverter to power them while cruising the lake.

Yes! That is exactly what we do and have done in the past.

Icicle lights along the life lines, halyards to raise strings up. I'd pull them for and aft along the stays. I did not light the shrouds because it would detract from the cross. Well, in my opinion anyway. Then I'd wrap the boom and the dodger in various lights. Took a small Honda generator to run most of it though! LOL!


Remeber if you raise lights to tie off the plug in ends together! They'll hold together until the first wave or bounce and then separate! BEst if you can get one string to run the height! Also wrap the lights on the stays SEVERAL TIMES! otherwize they will swing wildly if you have any kind of weather!

Notice that even in my driveway, the cross is suspended firmly from top, bottm, and both sides! NO SWINGING IN THE WIND! LOL! yeah, experience talking . . . .

FYI: My wife will be getting 4 blue strands of light which I will suspend from the bottom of the cross and fan them out. It makes for a cool affect. Blue is no where near as bright as the white so the cross will still stand out dramatically but with a blue accent base! I'll update the photo probably this weekend.
