Not a Chrysler, but looks to be a fine delivery
Hi all, Been wrapped up with life, the universe (and home, family and work) and everything for a bit, but had a great opportunity come my way and jumped at it. Heading out Thursday early AM for Victoria, BC, to crew on a delivery of a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 50 DS to San Francisco. This will the furthe...

I feel bad for the experience you had with them. It's a good thing that you shared it. Having to shop for a new loft for Destiny's sails really sucks. Much more comforting to do that with a relatively inexpensive set of sails. Really hope you find one with quality product AND reliable delivery this ...

Scott, I'm really, really sorry to hear you've had another problem with FXSails. I think you were quite generous in giving them a second shot after your first experience, and obviously you've been bitten twice. Their loss, on several levels, for blowing that second chance to shine. Back in my jeepin...

I don't have any reference books handy at work, but Ivan Dedekam has one on sail trim and rig tuning that I like. Also have something at home from Selden masts, recommended to me by Brion Toss, and a bunch of notes from various sites. I carry more tension than most other boats at our dock, the excep...

Length of C26 rudder shaft?
Back from Pamlico Sound and the Outer Banks of NC. Great time, wonderful weather, cooperative breeze, few mosquitoes, and unfortunately a rudder that is once again compromised. Stress risers from the numerous repairs seem to predispose the cheek plates to cracking, and rather than continue to bleed ...

Goin' coastal
Entropy and a series of related and unrelated events finally surmounted, I'm throwing clothes in a duffel, adjusting tongue weight on the trailer and taking Windward for a week of sailing on Pamlico Sound / Outer Banks. Cheers!

I tow Windward from NE Tennessee to the Outer Banks on a borrowed trailer with a 2006 standard bed, super cab F150 5.4L, 4wd with 3.73s. Not sure what the all-up weight is for Windward, gear and trailer, but I'd guess it's 8000-8500 pounds. It struggles coming up 421 into Boone, and on 105 past Boon...

You guys picked a great weather window to visit a beautiful place! Next week/weekend looks wetter. I've not been to Cades Cove in years, but last time there (with bikes) the woman I was with was run off the road by an oblivious, sight-seeing motorist. On reflection, it may have been someone who knew...

He may have Alpha, the boat that I had thought was Dave Larson's. Try http://www.cambridge.k12.mn.us/~larsond/woods2002.htm.
<<edit>> Just looked, and I think it may be. If so, it's a well-loved, well-used, and almost certainly well-cared for boat with much history.
