And a big affirmative from here about the comment that the keel cable should never be slack.
I changed mine in the last year and used the Chrysler manual in the document section. It even states what the angle of the keel is with a certain amount of turns on the winch.
It's a document in C22 section ...

FWIW, mine are on a switch box on the port aft portion of the cabin, sharing the wall with the cockpit.

No help, but this last weekend I was giving Dia a bath. So I'm working in the cockpit scrubbing in circles, when I start thinking 'where did all these rust spots come from?' I make almost two complete circles before I noticed my toe was bleeding .

I mean the plastic on the floor and under the cushions. I'd like to paint it in some fashion. Any recommendations for type and/or color? For instance, can you get away with a spray paint? If not, how do you all care for the plastic parts of your interiors?

My c22 came named 'Sea Weed' and made me immediately think 'drug smuggler'. So that had to go.

Had a big renaming discussion with my wife and two kids, including list-o-names for each other to veto. Wanted something unique, but sunny/happy.

For a topping lift, I have a simple stainless cable ( about 2/3 the gauge of the stays ) running from the mast top to a carabiner type clip. Once I get the main up, I simply detach it and clip it to a ring on the mast. IIRC, it was about 25 1/2 feet long.

@tgentry I bow to my superior. I've never had the mast go sideways under the bridle, but then again I don't remember any strong winds while lifting it.

IMHO, absolutely. I do not believe the hinge is designed to take that amount of torque. Not even close.

FWIW, I lower the mast using the jin pole. I have also made up a total hack support, a couple of crossed 2x4s, an 8' 2x4 raising up from the cross, and two small pieces of wood making a 'v' at the end. The idea is to lower the mast so that it comes down into the 'v'. Once the support has the weight ...

Is F helpful? My intuition would be that small, slow boats like a C22, with a spotter and a flotation device in the water, you'd be better off not trying to use the GPS to get back to the spot.

Well, a jin pole is just a pole that give you leverage when raising the mast. The bridle holds the pole and mast to the deck in a nice firm grip.
