Looks really good to me, little bit of work around the edges with a belt sander or router and it should work as good as the original, if not better.

Leaks
The windows are very common culprits as far as leaks go. I also had to re-bed the winches and companionway runners.

Square footage
Not sure of the square footage but when I did mine I got it done with one gallon and had a bit to spare.

Tack
I have always used a shackle for this, but believe I will use Capt. Scott's method from now on. Sounds like a better idea to me.

Keel pin brackets
The originals on mine were steel and rusted out. I am replacing them with stainless. I found a local fabricator that made them for aprox. 300.00 They did a nice job and are willing to repeat the job for others. If you are out of the area you would have to pay for the shipping. Anyone interested in t...

Wow Bubbles, now that is a cure, mine isn't quite to the point I have to go that far yet but it really looks like it would be bullet proof. Astrorad, that is basically the exact thing I plan to do but using an off the shelf 2" stainless through hull. I really like your idea of extending the upp...

Don't pay the ransom!!
Good evening everyone, don't pay the ransom, Andiron120 has escaped. I have been off list for a couple of years now due to circumstances beyond my control. Catch 22, has been land locked all this time and has multiple problems which must be addressed before she can again resume the fight to maintain...

My 22 is off the trailer and waiting on me to get one of those round tuits. I may be in the market for a set of brackets soon. The price is high but I don't know of anyone willing to build them for less at the moment and you pay what it costs if you need it. Will also have to rebuild the rudder thro...

Well, it is not a given that the keel pin brackets will need replacing but the best way to tell off the get is to inspect from inside and out and check out how much corrosion there is. Pull the rubber plugs on the inside and look and see if it looks like there has been water leaking in. Crawl under ...

Don't know if it will help but when I removed the rudder from my C 22 I ran into the same problem. The collar was aluminum and the shaft stainless. The two have a tendency to become stuck over a period of time. I tried WD 40 and other lubricants, penetrants, and heat, also used a large hammer and bl...
