Hello everyone. Just a quick note to introduce myself and say hello. I'm new to this forum but not to sailing Chryslers. I have had a 1980 Mutineer for several years and have been sailing with my dad on his C22 for over 10 years. Sadly he passed away after a battle with cancer last year, so now I'm the Skipper of the C22.

My dad and I did a lot of work to the 22 over the years. One of the neatest things we (or I should say he, as he did most of the work) did was design and install a 9.9hp sail drive. We used the power head and lower unit from a 70's 9.9hp Johnson outboard. It was quite involved and a lot of work but the end result turned out great. This next year I would like to tackle the keel pin/brackets, bottom paint, and top paint. But, I would like to sail too! So I may have to stretch those projects out over the next two seasons.

Good to be on board! I'm looking forward to being part of the forum.

I'm hoping to expand my cruising ground to Pepen (via trailer) soon, so I may be in touch about launches, anchorages and points of interests.
My home cruising ground is Lake St Croix from Stillwater to Afton

I live in Olivia and my boat is based on Green Lake (close to Willmar) at Spicer in Western Minnesota.

It is rather surprizing how many C-22 owners there are in the frozen tundra of Minnesota.

Anyway, this week I have been busy replacing all of my standing rigging. It made me rather wimper seeing $500 in a shoe box...

You will enjoy Pepin! The best launch in my opinion is at Dan's Marina in Pepin, WI. He charges something like $8.00 to use the launch but it is well worth it. Nice deep launch and good facilities to boot. I'm thinking of lining a slip up there for the 2011 season. Would like it in a slip this year, but too much work to get done of the boat.

Welcome Dan, another Minnesota guy here and newbie to sailing and this forum. I probably couldn't offer you much advice on the C-22 but we could joke about the Minnesota winter, no doubt. That Minnesotans for global warming video is classic, eh! But, as someone else mentioned on this post, it is indeed warming up nicely here - mid-40's and climbing! I am planning on sailing the St. Croix this summer (maybe Lake Pepin too) so we can all keep an eye out for the forum member C-22s.
