A promising prospect for our C-22

Just for the hell of it I posted a Craigslist classified. We got a surprising amount of interest and showed the boat on Saturday to a few folks. We got two offers and one looks very promising, not wanting to jinx myself. A nice young man who seems to have lots of plans for refurbishing the old girl. I'll keep you all updated.

hmmm.... must mean Fran is movn' up to a C-26 and going to cruise and overnight out on the east end and keep my C-26 company..

So its a done deal! The first buyer fell through, kinda flaked on us, no doubt some buyers remorse, but the back up offer was finanlized this AM.
She is going to be in great hands. A very nice man who works in a boat yard in Westchester County and has always dreamed of owning his own sailboat. He has the ability and acess to do all the repairs . Im very pleased he's getting the boat. he had done alot of reseach on the boat before he came to see it. He was so exicited when he saw it, went over it with a fine tooth comb, had lots of ideas for how to make the needed reapirs and after we went inside he sat at the curb in his car just staring at her for about 10 more minutes. I think its a love match. His name is Leo, and I expect to see him popping up here, so give him your ususal warm welcome.

I am very pleased with the new owner!

The new boat is practiclly ready. All the major bottom work and repainting was done last summer and we took her out under motor in October before tucking her away for the season. We need to reinstall the benches and stiffen up the motor mount area to accommodate the 7.5 long shaft. The sails are in tough shape but I think I'll patch them up before investing in new just in case we want to alter the rig or sail plan. Its a lug sail with a small jib now. Im thinking a small gaff rig might work better.
Funny I was just thinking it was time to strip off the tarps and get started.
