Overhaul... for casual sailing will any old winch do.

I realize this is a loaded question, I'm sure there is as many opinions on this as there are winches. My 1980 c26 came with two Lewmar #6 single speeds. The p.o. must have found them adequate for his needs for they look to be original equipment. Will check out West marine, hope they have single speed spares kit for this old of a model.

I have the same winches. They're probably a little on the underpowered side, but a long winch handle helps.

Could not help but notice... top notch on your paint job. It seems of late everyone is going for blue or red. When the time comes I'll most likely go green to match my envy over all the Chryslers already in the water.
