Rudder/Hull Repair? -- Photobucketed Images

Post by Zahger »

OK so now I have these images loaded into a easier to access database.

http://s954.photobucket.com/albums/ae27 ... /Sailboat/

1) There are several different types of Fiberglass resins/coatings which ones should I use in the 2 different hull pictures?

2)For repairing the crack in the rudder what would you guys/gals recommend?

Thank you for Input!

I did not intend to work on my rudder tonight, but. The pics may give you a better idea of the work I am trying to describe. All the materials you'll need are probably available at your local auto parts store. http://www.flickr.com/photos/93952888@N00/

My boat has not been in the water for two years but it was stored uncovered until I purchased her in early April. The rudder was removed and stored in my garage since then and the foam core was still wet when I removed the SS tubes that house the rope knots.

I used kitty hairon my C-22 and a tube of gel-coat repair goes a long way.

if your going to paint do a final wash with Dawn dish soap.

A comment on your physics slide. I believe 24" heigtht X 100 pounds force would be 2,400 inch pounds rather than 2,400 foot pounds of force for the stantions (200 ft pounds).
