Bow fixes, picutres, and questions

I decided to take off the bow cap to see what was under there...bad idea. I have a horrible nack for finding issues and not being able to look the other way. Now I am fixing the bow nose.
Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to put on the bow to make it presentable and possibly useful as a anchor roller?

At the very least I am going to put a couple of layers of glass on and leave it for another year.

How about a peice of teak with sealed stainles thru bolts. You could even incorprate a roller in the front, sorta squared off with an axle and use a small rubber trailer roller.Heck, I might even do the same on mine come to think of it.

That is probably the only plus about living is such a cold area - a guy doesn't feel so guilty until late June about being dry docked. However, she will be going into the water next week...hopefully.

I am a little unsure how to attach it to the bow though.
Do I make it tight to the deck and put cocking around it or build risers under so that water can freely wash under? Decisions decisions.

I had something very similar on my c26. I decided the stress of the fore stay was the culprit for the separation right at the bow. My solution was to make a metal bracket that bolted to the underside of the fore stay cleat and to attach a turnbuckle with a short piece of chain fastened to the inside of the bow eye. I snugged up the turnbuckle so the stress from the fore stay would be transfered to the bow eye and the hull.

I don't suppose anybody here would have some pictures of their bow and/or their anchor roller?

Similiar to the set up my C-22. I'm often amazed at how alike the rigging is on the C-22 & C-26. I like hotdot's solution in your case... Sounds solid!

I was early for race night tonight and was walking the doc looking at bow setups. It was interesting the differances between same maunfacturer/model/year and how the bows were done. About 2/3 of the boats had a SS strap/bar over the bow and down the leading leadge bolted in front and on top.

On my Catalina 27 project boat (I know but I couldn't find a Chrysler 26 in the Northwest!) I have the same kinda setup you do, but more forward with a short strap over the nose and a single bolt on the lead edge,,, it doesn't go lower than the rub rail. I'm thinking of cutting the rub-rail in front and installing a longer bar/strap version to take more of the stress off the hull-deck joint. After seeing your picts I'm thinking it's a good mod.

And I like the idea of a teak plank also with an anchor roller a short ways out front
