C-22 Boom/Main Sail Rigging

Hey Everyone! Was just wondering if anyone had some good pictures of their boom/mail sail rigging. I have the Jib all figured out, but am trying to figure out where to rig all the boom stuff up.

I just don't understand what I am supposed to tie the end of the boom off to.

There is some track system along the stern of the boat with a little piece that can glide along it, and there is one pin to stop the gliding piece at various spots.

The track would be your traveler. You hook your mainsheet to this then to the underside of your boom to the rear most hook. Sent you a PM also

Greetings, I have just taken possession of a Chrysler 22 and I'm also not sure of a few things.

1. Is there a mast lock up top for the mainsheet halyard on these?
2. Is there a diagram of which lines go through the pulleys at the bottom of the mast and to the locks?

Here is a link to my photos...I hope that this helps...I dont have any type of lock up on top of the mast for the halyard....my main sheet is shown in the photos along with the goose neck attached to the boom & Mast.

Nice Pictures! Where did you get all the pins for the traveler? I only seem to have one.

Hey Tim,
Your boat looks real nice. However, the Carabiner-style snap shackle that you are using to attach your main sheet blocks to you boom is not very strong, maybe only 100lbs. You could blow it apart on an accidental jibe. You would be best off with a "D" type shackle, they can handle 1000s of pounds, and are not very expensive.





Also, I noticed that your bow pulpit attachment points are close together on your deck, does that interfere with your jib?

I will switch the carabiner style snap...I didnt realize that they were not suitable for the job..

As for the pulpit, its positioned there only because thats where I could get the best fit..I have a short cable that extends the jib up a little so that it clears the pulpit.

It is not the carabiner style persay but the rating. They do make them with much higher ratings but yours look like one that is not designed to carry much load rather to just hook things together.

I presume you've been looking at the photos here! As far as the lock on top of the mast?? No, there is not a lock for the main Halyard.

As far as the rigging, check this site out and the original owners manual!
