Lightning protection

Post by caz »

I really enjoy this forum, and I've learned alot. It's amazing how well ya'll care for your boats, and the passion displayed here. My wife and I are gearing up for our spring cruise on "Second Wind", our c26, and I was curious about what you do for lightning protection? There are several schools of thought on this and it'd be great to get some imput.
Thanks a bunch. Caz

All metal through hulls should be properly bonded to the keel as well as the standing rigging.

Now that I've said that, Lady Jo has no lightning protection however Destiny is heavily protected. Lightning damage is not a huge issue here in the Pacific Northwest!
