Those hubcaps look a lot like old Corvette hubcaps from the late 60's to early 70's!

If anyone here buys that boat, contact me!

That's my boat. Donated to Boat Angel. My daughter is heading to college this year and I can not afford to keep the boat any longer.

Hey Peter,

Good for you putting the daughter first!!! NICE CALL!

However, I have to ask about those hubcaps!
Are they indeed old vette hubcaps?

I'd seriously hate to see them dipped in salt water!

Thanks
Scott

hubcaps

Post by bmwdad »

Scott,
No they are not. The vette ones have the crossed flags in the center. These are Lincoln hubcaps. http://www.hubcaps.org/lincoln1.html. They came with the trailer when I was given the boat a couple of years ago. It would be a great thing if the hubcaps made it to salt water. Chicago is a long way from the ocean. I hope someone buys the boat. She still has life in her.

Peter, kudos from EE's crew for donating the boat to Boat Amgel - as someone who worked with inmates getting their GED in a prison setting I admire that.

Peter,

Way to go on the donation. I gave Boat Angel my old San Juan 21 last year and they sold it to someone here in NC. It went to a marina across from the original Clark Boat Works where it was built in 1976. Karma!

Also good choice on the college vrs the boat.

The boom was stored below.

The boat sold to a man that lives in Ohio. He is near a small lake, something like about 1 mile wide by 5 miles long. Somewhere near Columbus. He just came and got it last week. He is retired military and he owns some buildings where he stores his toys. He's got 4 sailboats now and 4 motorcycles. He had owned a Chrysler a long time ago and he really liked the boat. He liked the idea of the inboard and he likes to tinker with engines so this would be perfect for him. The engine has not ran for a couple of years, I was using an outboard. Anyway, I had it in storage for 2 years without having it in the water. I sail and teach with my sailing club, SailChicago, so I still got that going. At least the boat might get back in the water where it belongs.
