UPDATE ON SUNK 26

Just a quick update on the boat,the trash pump worked well,overtook the leak in no time,when i got in her the breach was right where i thought,the rudder post bent and broke the fitting taking some fiberglass with her,it was about a 3'' tear in the hull,since my new cushions were ruined anyway i cut one up squeezed the water out and stuffed it to slow the leak down,now a sump pump is in the bilge and keeping her up,a friend from the docks went home and got his trailer for his 25-oday and we are going to pull her tommorow,it looks bad but i really dont see anything that cant be overcome,ill keep you guys posted and get some pics this weekend.

Good luck. At bad as it looks now perhaps with a little fresh water rinse she will not be so bad.

there's nothing that can't be fixed with a little epoxy and glass. I'm glad you didn't gave up on the boat

giving up on her was never an option,heck when i get done with this and my wife sees what ive spent she might be a liveaboard anyway,im pretty sure the bulkheads and galley will have to be replaced, just curious,have you guys replaced the vinyl hull liner on yours and what did you replace it with?

my 22 have no liner in the overhead. I did a rudder repair/overhaul on my 22 (big leak too) I can dig out the pictures if you want me to.

We had 40 mph winds on False River when that front moved thru last night, a club member's Wellcraft/Starwind got loose, and is sitting the bottom now, so anything you could pass along on how many tubes you used, what pump, the whole process etc might be helpful to him.

If you need to, send the pics to me again and I'll host/post them, etc.

My C26 had vinyl behind the banquettes and a burlap-ish liner everwhere else. I replaced the vinyl at Hancock Fabrics.
