Just got back from long long day, and going back down tomorrow for a couple days work with the redhead to help, mast stepping and all that, but here we are, another C26 saved from the parts bin !!
Far from a perfect reconditioning, especially in the cabin where mostly I replaced all the bad sole, and cleaned up mold, and added some vinyl but she's stable and alfloat none the less..at least she was afloat last time I saw her,
Very good-looking 1979 Chrysler 26 and is nice that you will be able to spend your November 13 birthday on it. Just a note on your mass stepping don't over tighten your bridal system. I did that this fall letting down the mast and ripped out that plate on the bottom of the mast. No harm done and it was a quick fix. I took my boat out two days ago, the water level in the Great Lakes is down so low I was only able to get 50 foot from the boat ramp. I had to drag my 26 with my truck 50 foot through the mud to get to the trailer happy that the water was a little deeper there I was able to get the trailer under the boat and loaded okay. So now it's back in my driveway and power washed waiting for spring. Do have of very happy birthday on your beautiful sailboat.
Nice, I like it! Esp the one looking out over the water at her, cleanup pail put to the side, lime in the Corona and feet up. Ahhhhhhhhhh, just like I'm right there baby!!!!!!! A wonderful parting thought before I go up to north tomorrow to sit on a log to look for deer (and freeze my arse off!) for the next five days and four nights. Thank you!
Each year I question why I do this a little bit more, then I notice how exited my son gets about it.
