Holding tank on C-26

doing alot of work on "Rag Time" new fresh water tanks,(can carry 150 galons now) all new Bimini and matching sail cover/tiller cover/BBQ cover, new rigging, new anchor and rode, new faucet in galley, BUT we have a problem, the porta potti which is semi permanent has got to go, we need a large or larger capacity and a pump out, where to put it? we need to be legal as we are sailing to the Bahamas with another group out of Key West, we could have spare carry tanks, but the wife says no to
that, any ideas? heres hoping for a mild hurricane season for all our SE sailors Keysskipper

I'm hoping for an answer here as well, Keysskipper - EE has the original head which is direct discharge. Other than sliding a small holding tank in the port banquette and then forward to behind the head I dunno where they expected you to put it !

My holding tank is in the back section of the front V-berth. I beleive the original cooler went here. The bottom of that section was cut out so I can get a 9 gallon holding tank down there. I think a 15-20 gallon tank would fit.

I have had a small plumbing issue since my refit so my head leaks a bit, so I have been using trash bags and a diaper gene type bag system. In the short term I like it, Not sure however it would be workable for anything longer then a week or so.

I was thinking of that area, my old Hunter had a holding bag there, and a pump out thru hull as well as port side waste putlet for harbor boat to pump out or at marina, do you have that? need to fo it asap, wanting to add a small sink in the head as well, my grat water goes directly out so I guess it will drain into the holding tank, also did you put it in? With a little cutting the rear part of the V-berth would hold a good sized waste bag. It is low enough that it would just act like extra ballast when full. I am still using a regualr holding tank, but want to switch it to a holding bag instead. It would sit lower fill in the irregular shape better then a square tank. The pump out travels up the side of the head bulkhead to the deck. I have seacock, manual pump and Y valve but do not have that part finished yet. I have not decide yet if I really want to pump anything overboard yet.

Keep me posted on your Bimini passage. I am curious to see how the C-26 does on the trip. That trip is on my list!

thanks for the advice, this going to be a job, a crappy one, but one we must do, can only dump at sea if you are 20 miles out, as for the trip we are going to Paradise Island, Bimini is to far north and a bitch to get home with the gulfstream, will try to post pics soon, when are you coming down island for some real open sailing??? good deals still available thru me for our sailing community KS

Oh it wasn't easy, we have 45 gallons in the stern witch is the main supply, fit right where the old one was, then a 35 bag under the V berth,
then two 25 tanks mounted behind the steps with gravity feed to the 45, we then carry 4 five gallon (collapable) along with extra 12 gallons of fuel as gas is quite expensive in the Bahamas and here in the Keys, we use the coffin berth area as storage anyway, oh get this now she wants the Direct TV marine system....when will it end, she's trying to fit all she had on the Hunter on this little boat, we love it though it is more fun and sails better and I prefer the tiller. I expect to see you down here Partydawg
for mini lobster season, I'm sure we'll see alot more sailbots this year, especially those without a fixed keel like Rag Time. Fair Winds and Following seas Keysskipper
