Working Jib/ Storm Jib ??

Post by Bhacurly »

I'm considering getting a smaller jib sail...

After reading Banshi's post I wondered if any of you have a storm jib or working jib and what size they are. I have the 84 sq ft jib and 110% genoa. The jib is a bit much in stronger winds. If you do when then do you drop them and sail with the main reefed??

I've actually been reading about sail trim and how to sail what I have better, but think a smaller jib would help in certain conditions.

Can't believe October is just around the corner! Fall came a day early here with a nice cold rainy front last night...

If I did not mention it, this boat sails well with just a genoa. I would much rather sail with it than a reefed main alone. 30 kts wind gusts were no problem with just the Genoa up. It would be nice to have a smaller jib.............someday when I can afford one.
