I know the waters you will sail.

YES.

Check my photos of Destiny on my site and get one of those.

Sailboats are virtually invisable to radar. I have radar on Destiny and I know. Now if you sail on only bright sunny days, you can go without. However it is likely you'll one day head to Langley. Then maybe spend the night. Huess what . . . . When you wake up you may be socked in with fog. Then you have to come home . . . . . .

Alan, if you are curious ( or anyone here for that matter ) I extend an offer to take you on Destiny one day just to see how the radar works. See how invisible you really are. It is truely amazing.

Get a reflecter especially for where you will be sailing.

Remeber, a trip to Kingston will have you cross very busy shipping lanes. TWICE. Imagine if your motor were to die at night, no lights, and you did not know the Seattle Traffic frequency to report your position . . . .

I hear it happens . .

:)

Yes, brand and style do matter. As does cost.

Good thing here is from what I've read, the cheaper ugly ones seem to perform better than the fancy newer expensive ones.

The shape is actually round. Looks likes several discs shoved together. Creats a great reflective surface for radar. Boat show is coming up and I bet prices would be reasonable.

Go to westmarine.com and search for "Radar reflector" You will see what I have on Destiny.

Went sailing today! Cold, hail, wind, FUN! LOL!
I'll be at Destiny tomorrow, Sunday,by noon, if you care to drop by or check out your boat! I'll only have a couple of hours but it would be fun to see your baby!
