Trailer
You better keep looking, that trailer wont hold up a C-26. Nice cat. I now have a nice C26 triler in my drive way. Finly got the boat in the water.
oh no, can't use the trailer...just sying I stumbled across this cat boat while I have been searching for a trailer.... I found exactly what I needed, and immediately called the seller but it was in Mass and far away so a local ran over and bought it and beat me to it....UGH!!! still in the hunt... may have to build my own...do'nt want to buy a new one since the trailer will only go about 10 miles a year to/from the water for in/out twice a year...so really do'nt need much a used trailer would be ideal, and a new one a total waste for ame , my needs and a 1979 boat!

So true.... interesting ... here is what I am finding... there are lots of old trailer boats from the 70's and 80's ( must have been the golden age of the baby boomers love affair with trailer boats and sailing.... ) sitting on trailers and selling for about 400 to 700 !!! ( I saw a GREAT Santana 27 with a trailer sell for 400!!!
BUT... a used sailboat trailer with NO BOAT is very rare and gets snapped up ASAP for 1,200 to 2,500 --- go figure.
So I am very tempted to buy a boat and trailer package BUT, what do I do with the boat AND what if the boat is good and (yikes!) even better than my Chrysler ( mostly any other boat fits this category)... then I really have a problem as it is impossible to sell a old boat from the 80's with NO TRAILER!
crazy.... BUT, then there are PLENTY of Powerboat trailers and utility trailers from landscapers and car haulers.. but I am still confused as to if they can be fited out for a keel boat and what that would cost to tell if it makes sense.... this simple purchase is complicated and frustrating!

What I did
I ran into the same problem, lots of boat/trailer packages, but very few trailers for sale. So I bought a boat/trailer package, and sold the boat for $200.

I don't know if you know about this site, but it makes searching a wide area in Craigslist a lot easier: http://www.crazedlist.org/
One IMPORTANT note, you need to use firefox (or a different Browser than Internet Explorer that can disable "referrers") for it to work correctly.
Also a nice trick when doing a search for sailboat is to use a wildcard - sail*
This searches both "sailboat" and "sail boat" at the same time.
But you probaly already know that. Seems that a lot of IT guys are into sailing. I think it has to do with the simplistic complexity.

CrazedList works great but use caution! If you over use or abuse it with continuous searches over the entire US you will get blocked!! LOL!
( Or so I'm told )
