Any interest in parts

Post by 2nd generation »

I have a led on a C22 that I am looking at buying for parts. I thought I would take what I need and offer the rest at resonable prices. (This is the way I can justify buying it to my wife!)

It is sitting on an original trailer that I don't need. Once the parts are gone and I get rid of the hull the trailer would be available.

Any interest?

Parts

Post by mjt »

Like many c-22 owners, I am fearful that one day the swing keel may end up on the bottom of a lake if the bolts fail, etc.

One thing I regret not doing when I took the keel out to replace the brackets was to get some large paper out and make a measured drawing of the keel outline showing the location of the hole for the keel pin.

If someone has their keel out laying on the ground and could make an outline and somehow get it posted on this site - I would apprecaite it and I think a lot of other C-22 owners would appreciate it as well.

Perhaps someone parting out a boat could do this....

Thanks

I could also use the starboard side cockpit hatch/seat. Do you think you are going to get the boat?

Still working on talking my wife into it. It will be about a two weeks before I know for sure. Leaving tomorrow for a week long vacation in Colorado.

port frames

Post by mjt »

I replaced the original ports on my c-22 with opening ports from a company called New Found Metals.

I didn't destroy the frames when I took them off and I think that I still have them for anyone that would want them.

Hi -

Here is the website for New Found Metals Tri-Matrix ports.

http://www.newfoundmetals.com/catalog/trimatrix1.html

I installed them using a procedure similar to the one laid out on this website.

http://www.wbryant.com/StellaBoat/Proje ... /index.htm

I'll have to take some pictures of my C-22 showing the ports.

I know that my old ports leaked like a sieve and that the inside of the boat would get awfully hot. With the opening ports installed I can open them up for cross ventilation and there are screens that I can snap in if I like to keep out any bugs.

We've had some very heavy rains since I installed them and they have not leaked at all. The self draining feature works very well on them - although the cabin sides on a c-22 are angled slightly more than the manufacturer recommends - so they need to be closed in a rain and immediately after a rain you might get a drip or two inside when you open them.
