On the trailer

On the trailer
Yes the hurddle has been jumped. What should have been easy turned into an all day adventure.
It was scheduled that the roofing business across the steet was going to move my C-22 from the cradle to the trailer on friday so I shut my shop down at lunch and waited...and waited even after I agreed to pay a ransom for them to help they were a no show.
Saturday morning when I watched the owner drive by and not even look my way I knew that I wasn't going to rely on the use of a boom truck so I set out to do it myself.
Slow and steady with 3 floor jacks and a come along and $$$ still in my pocket its now on the trailer ready to go.
If every thing goes well next week the wife and I will spend 4 or more days on the lake

Congrats Mario! That must have been at least a little scary. Any pics?

great news! you did the right thing.... save the money and put in the sweat... don't count on anyone.
I just paid the yard a total of 5G's to have my boat sit in its own shipping cradle get launched and it's mast stepped.
I told my wife no more... I got a trailer coming up from FLA and I am going to do it all myself ( with the forum's help)
curious, could a boom truck lift 3000lbs anyway.
I too would be interested in your inventive solution. must have been stressful after all the hard work you put in .

unreal! for one season! and they did NO work on her! they are now calling me about my shipping cradle that is sitting in their yard..if if is going to stay ( Yes, they want to charge me storage for that too!) I will get a landscape trailer and get it out of there or a chainsaw..either way I am not paying them any more!...
Funny, I told them I was going to paint the boat. they said that THEY do that and I couldn't do it myself, OK.. so hwo much would THEY charge to paint my boat, they said, ya know it would be thousands of dollars and probably not worth doing on my old boat, but I would up paying them a lot more for doing nothing..unreal. But hopefully the end is near as await my trailer and my whining on this forum can stop.

Hey this thread is about Mario's success not my woes.... I would love to fly all you out here, it gets lonely with a fleet of one!
I really do have to paint my boat and I will do it myself and have no idea other than what I read her eso all tips are welcome...
BTW, I have a 1978 c-26 with a white/red cove stripe OEM color combo with nonskid.
so the question is.... are our boats actually white? mine looks like off white or almond! and below decks in the cabin it is definately a brown tint to the gelcoat... really dingy..is this correct?

Oh, you painted the bottom, I've done that but yards don't let you anymore... I thought you painted your topsides, they look great too.
Make sure you don't paint over transducers ( even in-hull ones) and also I heard not to paint the rudder cheeks if your bottom paint has copper
