You can see the two lines from the mast&boom to the bow, that is my safty line. When I hoist&lower the main the end of the boom is puled down, so that it has littel swing. An my main is loos foted, an no slugs. I allways have something to hang on to. I have have had up to three on board in 2 to 3 foot waves. With Keel Up never put it down, I sail in water that is not vary deep. My 280 12.9 chrysler, is the best outboard I have, I have a Neson with less than 70 hr that dosent run as will as the chrysler. An the elc. start & remote contro, is great. (So Far So Good) But my c-20 has been in 4to6 foot waves an was fun to sail an less work.

I have a similar problem.... what we both need is a "topping lift" to hold the main up ( and gives us something amidships to hang onto)... I rigged up a very simple line from the split backstay to hook onto the very rear of the boom.... holds it up when the main is down... just always have to remember to unhook when I raise the sail... enjoy,,, I am always amazed at the number of "multiple chrysler" owners on here... very interesting and it says alot...

LOL I'm looking for a C-26 and sure I will get one at some point

I've seen what looked like other abandoned boats like my C-22, I'm sure I'll run across a C-26.
