C-26 run hard a guound

Hi all another leson learned. With a 25 m p r wind out of the s/w an your cut runing w/e with boat listing 15 degres. I ran a ground trying to come home. I was stuck hard an the bow sung to point north, not good. ( moter dos not turn) my keel is all wase up. I pulled the rudder up put the motor in reverse the bow came back to face west an the boat backed up. Stearing with the rudder. I was abel to free my self an get back in OK Will that just made my day. (love that C-26)

I'll twist a phrase from the aviation guys - any grounding you can back away from is a good one, and if you can use the boat again, its a great one !

nysailer, when I was comeing in I ran a groung in the cut, it has not been dreged out for 5 years. An in the winter the ice moveing around an wave action files it in. So I hit sand, or mud-clay. In Saginaw Bay, a strong south-east takes the water out. We do not have Tides but our water levle goes up or down + or - 4 feet depending on wind.( No damage to boat )
