Chrysler Sailboats Parts Manual

Post by Sailfrog »

I have a parts manual for our boats that I just purchased on eBay. It has the original part numbers, assembly drawings, photos, rigging instructions, etc. for all the Chrysler boats except the CY-26 (Alas!)

Boats that are included are CY-22, Man' O ; War, Buccaneer, Mutineer, LS-13, LS-16, and Pirateer.

By the way; it solves the "High aspect/Standard mast" issue. The official word is:

"NOTE: 28ft 9in. Mast Before Serial Number CBC 33152---xxxx And 26ft 9in. Mast After Serial CBC--- 33152xxxx. See pages 333-11 thru 19 for rigging hardware breakdown."

It lists different sales and standing rigging (with dimensions) for both. Nothing about optional ratios, racing masts, etc. Both are "standard," depending on when purchased/built.

I suppose others would be interested in this manual. I went to the Chrysler Sailing Assn. website, but don't know how to contact the webmaster to upload the pages to the Manuals section.

Anyone know how?

Windward's skipper Jeff maintains that website. I am sure he'd love to have a copy for the site !

I'd be thrilled if you could please scan this to a high-res PDF and share it!

The manual on the http://chryslersailing.lizards.net/ site is all GIF files which are not very good for text (or images really).

Hey Dan,
if you have ANY problems scanning it, I have a scanner. I'd happily scan it and promptly send it right back to you. I'd even send it back with a disk of the hires scans so you have both!

Just let me know and I'd be glad to help.

Chrysler Sailboats Parts Manual

Post by Sailfrog »

I have a scanner (though maybe not "high-resolution") and I've scanned in the Dagger, Chrysler-22, and the Barracuda. I'll probably get the rest done tonight.

Matt, this isn't an "Owner's Manual." It's a Parts Manual, more like you'd find at a dealer's shop. The actual photo reproductions aren't scanning very clearly, but the line drawings look fine.

Scott, I just printed out the interior view of the CY-22 and it's not much more than a black blob. How fine is the grey scale on your scanner. I'm debating whether to take the photo pages to Kinko's or let you try them. I'm thinking Kinko's if someone needs fine resolution.

If you have a digital camera, you could take a picture of the page. Sometimes it comes out better then the older scanners.

WOW! great find and great contribution, thanks! Any c-26 lit. lurking out there, even those early newletters (Quarterdeck, or something like that..), had a lot of tips.

I scanned in the entire manual and the print and the line drawings came out great. But, unfortunately, the photos of the interior and the parts box photos were nothing but black spots. I have a friend who has a scanner with better gray-scale resolution and I'll rescan them next week.

I'd really like to post them, but can't find the owner (Windward) of the other Chrysler site to send them to him. So, I'll email the thing to ya when I get it done. Probably next Thur.

Everyone say a big thanks to SailFrog, the Chrysler manuals he is sharing are at

Updated Chrysler Manuals

Or go to EE's home page and click on "Technical Drawings", "Chrysler Manuals"

They are pdf's so right click and save if you like.

Ever seen a detailed pic of the C22 masthead. Now you can !

Dan said he was going to try to lighten the C22 interior pics, but they were pretty dark to begin.

Has anyone seen any for the C-26? Not that you could get any parts from Chrysler but I tow my Chrysler with a Dodge Dakota and my wife has a caravan. Is it obvious that I like Chrysler?
