Dave and the Chrysler crew members are indeed the keepers of the flame for the powerboats and outboards ! You'll also find them at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thechryslercrew/
Since the powerboat guys that designed the boats for Chrysler actually worked at Chrysler it isn't unusual to see someone post a question about a boat and have the designer himself chip in with an answer. Makes me a tad envious !
Here's a link to a story Dave tells about going down to Dallas and Plano to meet a designer and go by the old plant in Plano !

Funny you should lament over that....I was reading on sailnet I think... someone had a question about his chrysler sailboat and actually reported that he emailed his question to Halsey Herrschof ......but HH has yet to get back to him....
HH is almost 80 ( someone has a big birthdaaaay coming up.....) I wonder if we can all get together and send him a 80th b-day card!!
BTW: imagine having your own museum! NH and HH do in RI with quite a big library and a librarian...hmmm... I wonder if there are any Chrysler sailboat build gems hiding in the HH archives.... anyone up for a reserach trip to Bristol RI!
