A Non Sequitur

I know this has no relivance to sailing but I just had to post it.

The high school my daughter attends has a yearly food drive. Each class elects/volunteers someone to run the drive for that class.

My daughter was selected to run the drive for her class. In turn she asked me if I would put up a collection at my work. I did. The box I put out was promptly filled. Someone else came along unbenounced to me , added a second box, and it was filled. Now there is a bag full of food next to my collection! WOW! I had no idea.

About an hour ago I was asked if I was running the drive here. Uh oh. Figured I would be asked to remove it from company property since I did not get anytype of permission.

Well, it comes to be that some other folks ran a drive recently and had not committed the food to any particular group and they would like to donate it ALL to my daughters class! Would I like to have the food!!

My answer was SURE!!! I'll take it all! Thank God I drove my vette today instead my Harley! I can haul it home and surprise my daughter tonight!!

So off I go to meet the ladies and get the food! OMG! I'll be back this weekend with MY TRUCK!

Now granted, we will not feed an army but there are at least ten or more boxes of canned goods plus lots of other non perishables!

WOW! Two days into this and I need my TRUCK to haul away the donations!!!!

America is a grand place to live!!

Thanks guys! Yes, she s happy! She was at band practice so one of my work buddies, my wife and I filled her bedroom with the stuff! She was not aware it was coming! She came home headed off to her room and let out a squeel!

Pretty funny I might say!!!

Yes, there is pleanty of good in the world!!
