Looks the same to me as the one Captain Scott gave me. It's on board the boat so I cant check measurments.

If the mast step finger is the same on the C-26 & C-22. An if any one wood concer saleing one. I need one for a frend, How many $$$ wood it take to get one.

Just a thought, I'm curious as to a fabrication price. My mast step is not broken, but I'm in the mist of overhauling my c26 and feel it would be prudent to have a back-up mast step. My question is what best to use as a material. SS comes to mind but would it negate the mast step as a weak point or price it out of reasonability? Perhaps some type of material from Mc-masters would work better, any feed back welcomed.

Stress cracks will need to be dealt with, but thats for another day.

I just climbed on the deck of my C-22 and mesured the mast step finger and it is the same.

So what happens if you have a mast hinge when the mast gives way? I say this because it happens ans something has to give.

you guys have me nervous , Mine looks to be in great shape but is a spare a good Idea?

Good question about the hinged mast step, I'm curious to see what the owners who have put this option on, think.

I thank you all for the Photos, I finaly learned how to post a Link, but not a Photo. We have a small foundry hear in town, thay said thay could cast one for $25.00, but we would have to do the mill work. The bigest cost is the Mold for the Casting $1,000.00. So if Every One Of Us Wonted A Spar. The cost my not be so bad. No I do not wont to open a store for mast fingers. I just wont to buy One for a frend, I like the mast step fingers, thy do there job will, an that is the best place for the week point, when things go rong.

Check the For Sale Section, there's a C26 being parted out in Florida, the step hook should be an easy deal to ship !

A piece of square aluminum that size can be bought for about 60 bucks then you just need to mill it down to shape
