Sticken' it to the Man!

I recently received my C26 boat registration renewal and actually smiled! Last year my registration was roughly $85, with the economy depressed and many people struggling to make ends meet the state of Florida wisely decided to increase the yearly registration amount to $124! Why would this make me smile? In June I printed all of the documents from the states website regarding antique vessel registration, signed the documents, put on my best happy face and went to the tag office. Naturally they had no earthly clue about antique vessel registration and it took over an hour for them to reluctantly make some phone calls to Tallahassee looking for ways to deny my request but, they finally changed my 1976 C26 to antique status. Here comes the smile, my new registration amount is ...$6.25. My 8ft Walker Bay dinghy registration is more than twice that amount. I encourage everyone to investigate antique registration in their state and "stick it to the Man!"

Being that I drive a 64 beetle and a 67 bus for the most part the registration on my cars have always been low $3 was what my beetle cost the first time but know its valued higher and cost like $12.75 and with no inspection.

I haven't checked into registration on my boat yet due to not required with no motor yet but its comming up. but doesn't meet North Carolina's antique status till next year ).

Nice Post, Hear in Michigan we are charged for L W L or ligth at water line. So the C-26 would be only 22'

Nice, I'm also in Florida and, I need to do that for my 1980. What is the age limit? 25 years?
