I'm going to be selling my 26' chrysler

I am purchasing a project morgan OI 41. Rebuilding it is going to be taking up all my resources so I plan on getting rid of my C26 fixed keel. I am looking for opinions on wether to sell whole or part out so anyone with an intrest on here please respond. My c-26 is the one with the crack in the deck and although it is not structural it obviously reduces the selling point. I believe it is a simple fibrglass repair. On the other hand boat is loaded with other goodies like Honda 15hp, roller furling, etc. I would take $2000 bucks for the boat whole but I may get more than that for parts.

I enjoy sailing the chrysler but I dont want to pay two slip fees. I wish there was decent places to permantly moor a boat here.

My 2 cents is sell it as a working boat as opposed to parting it out. Unless you have plenty of nearby buyers, the number of large parts on a 26' sailboat can be daunting to ship.

I might would sell the OB as a stand alone were it me

To sell it for decent money, I need to fix the crack, but I ripped my main last summer and did an ugly patch so thats a problem. I dont think I want to do repairs on my old boat, which is always going to be of limited worth, when I could be working on my new boat.

On the other hand I strip hull of ebayable stuff. The 15hp honda with remote control must be worth a grand. the very heavy duty motor lift. I have an auto-tiller I can ebay. The harken roller furling could ebay. boom vang. harken traveler. 110v and 12v electrical panels.new VHF goes on the morgan. Compass, depth finder, new pair of batteries, battery charger, solar panels and led interior lights, Oh and I have a new head and tank on the boat too. I think I should ebay just the bare boat with the sails and winches.

I wonder what the 2400lbs of lead could be worth.

I know its a shame.

Actually Scott, I'm lucky it isn't closer ! I'd love to have the fixed keel, but with a C26, and a Cal 21, and the Coronado 15, and the still-upside-down-in-the-backyard-since-2008 Rhodes Bantam, well, I'm already in the doghouse on boats !! It's just hard to say "no" to "free".

I'm planning to park the C15 at my daughter's house, and find another home for the Bantam project so I don't find myself in an intervention setting at some point....

Hey if I had the money or a job and the boat was in Washington state, I would be very interested. I'm sure you will have a buyer at that price point. A fixed keel 26, yea, that would be worth selling my C-22 for even if it does need work.

Hang in there, you'll get your price for the whole thing in one shot.

I could use the honda and furler but the bucks are the problem and I know what EE is going through. I also cannot get within 12 feet of a boat that is for sale.

That is the reason I had to sell the Newport Holiday "how many boats do you need" So it looks like I am going to have to start Building wood boats.

OK, I am mixed on this..

I have the sister ship to this boat... white/red combo the fixed, encapsulated fin keel and the original style "dolphin" or "bullet" foredeck is great and I love her and I am trying hard to clean her up and upgrade her while still sailing her and on a resonable budget -- you can get upside down in these boats real easy.

But, then again, I would love the parts..put me down fo rthe following;

roller furler,
navionics,
head and holding tank,
electrical panels,
LED lighting...

( SERIOUSLY, I am going to purchase all these items anyway so if she will be parted ( or even partially,) PM me please!!!!)

OK it looks like I may have someone coming to look at the boat next weekend. This person is interested in the bare boat and sails/rigging. I'm going to wait to see if they are interested in any of the other hardware and then I will post all the available items up here first before they go on ebay.

I believe the buyer will be buying the boat with all sails, rigging, roller furling, boom vang and traveler.

This is the short list of items I believe will be for sale. Feel free to PM me if interested but the potential buyer will get first dibs.

15hp very long shaft (27") honda outboard with high thrust prop, 10amp alternator upgrade, electric and manul starting and remote controls. engine runs excellent, has never stalled out on me. cover says 2004 but motor serial number reflects a build date in the 90s'. I assume previous owner lost the original cover. $800

heavy duty outboard Bracket, 15-1/2" Vertical Lift, 7.5hp-25hp. The retail on this model was nearly $480 but I bought it during boaters worlds going out of business sale for $300. I modified this unit for greater lift range so that it now lifts about 18". Less than 1 year old. Will include the mild steel adapter I made to adapt it to the angle of our transoms. $200

Raymarine Autohelm Series ST1000 Plus Tiller Pilot. Paid $449.99 at west marine. less than 1 year old. Plus I bought extended warranty which I believe tranfers. I'll take $275

I think I will be transfering the batteries, charger, solar panels, vhf, and head to the new boat.

Clair Hoffman called dibs on the outboard bracket sunday but I did not have a chance to post until now. Clair is coming to look at the boat shortly and if for some reason he does not buy the motor and motor mount I will list them as available again. NYCsailor will then have first dibs on the motor mount.

Outboard and mount are gone. 69 shark has first dibs on the auto-tiller. Everything else is on hold until the potential boat buyer comes this weekend. I will keep everyone informed.

I can't tell you how estetic I am about this, I can't thank Frank enough.

What a great time it was meeting Frank and the new boat along with a tasty lunch at the marina, could have done with out the snow storm.

Thanks Scott and to you You have a real nice auto tiller comming your way. I'm not a gaget person (not even a radio in my car) so I think I'm going to stay low tech a while and learn the boat.

I know I posted some where how I wanted a boat at the coast and one project in the front yard well I think having one in the water and "Don't Wake Me" here and easy to take to one of a dozen close lakes from here works out real well. Right now I would sail a bath tub just to get out there....

You wouldn't believe the crazy weather here , there goung to have 50+ inches of snow just north of us and we are getting gale speed winds.
