Just wanted to post my new member status. I bought a '76' Sandpiper 22 a couple of months ago, feel like I got a great deal on a great sailboat, and have been learning to sail. Not much experience yet but I am picking it up.

I am on Lake Norman in North Carolina, a good place to learn and have some fun. Looking forward to many more years of fun with the Chrysler.

Also, I am glad to be a part of this forum and have the resources available in case I need some answers. Regards to all. Jeff

Jeff

Welcome to the forum, I believe there are other Chryslers that sail Lake Norman's waters as well. I can't say when, but Lake Norman is on my list of Eastern lakes to sail when the overhaul of my c26 is completed. Post a photo of your boat if you can, we would all like to see it. 8)

Curious... is Sandpiper the name given to the C-22 like the Man-o-war and Mutineer are for the C-15's and the Buccaneer is for the C-18?

The CY-30 was apparently the "Osprey". Never seen a name for the C-20 though.

E.E.

It's a real shame Chrysler more or less came to an end with the c26... a 30' Chrysler I'm sure most would agree, particularly those who like the big lake would have been a sweet sailboat. 8)

True. It sort of went on to be the Ticon T-30.

Welcome Traveler I started on Belew's lake last year on our C-22 and had great times. The leaves will be changing soon, I'm thinking of taking the C-22 out soon.

You are killing me with the C-30 talk ... Is there ones to be found... time for a new topic

IIRC the CY-30 was a prototype that was shown just as Chrysler was exiting the scene. Was sold with the others in the line to Texas Marine(TMI) then as a Ticon, but less than forty were built.

Windward has some TMI-30 pics here

There's a video clip for the Ticon 30 included with this old ad
