Back on the water !!

Post by ajelford »

So after two yrs on the hard, we got splashed in on Wednesday morning. Got the mast raised and did a motor ride shakedown cruise to make sure the new outboard and bracket worked ok. Also had replaced all 3 thru hulls and the new spade rudder and hardware. Every thing bone dry and no play at all in rudder !!

Thursday, wife and I got the boom and main put on, and got power up and running. Washed the topside and cabin area and loaded on the our boating gear. We both had to work that night so no sailing.

Friday we got out early, got the main up and sailed all day. SW 25 km, gusting to 40. What a feeling it was !! What a Rush ! The sound of the wind and the water, the Smell of Sailing . Today was a repeat performance. We got sunburn , windburn and ache all over. Can't wait to go again !!
