Had to use the process of elimination for the windward spinnaker control line, cause I've never flown one.

Here is a pic of the motor mount mod that was done by a previous owner. It is pretty stout, and the motor foot comes up out of the water.

Hmmm, solid disk with holes for each bolt. Maybe I'll fill in my "ring" with fiberglass.

I have the same design for my rudder. It must have been a design change in the 1980 model. When I disassembled mine, though, all that is left of the "disk" is a "ring", no side plates with bolt holes. Is your disk solid? or are the flat sides just plates?

Winter projects? Which winter, 07, 08, or 09. Never mind, the list hasn't changed any, just grown a little smaller each winter.

Ronc, isn't that a feature? If you are inverted, the new hole would be the escape hatch. (Es sca pae, that's spelled just like escape).

Another method for pulling wire is to attach a walmart bag to your pull string, insert the bag in one end of the mast/conduit, and use a shop vac at the other end to pull the parchute (walmart bag) thru the mast/conduit. Works great when there are multiple turns, or the conduit is too long for fish ...

"Ya Never Know" didn't have a bilge pump when I bought her. I've since added one to the small bilge under the stairs. Where is everyone putting the thru hull for this? I was planning on joining mine to the sink outlet pipe with enough of a rise to prevent water from coming back into the bi...

I am going to add my WOW! to everyone elses. The nav station is too cool, that has me thinking that maybe I can build one big enough for the laptop. The shelves that replaced the drawers across from the head, are nice as well it looks like more storage space. The mangrove pirates took my big drawer,...

shunt, I donno about the 22, but on the 26, the deck is three layers, fiberglass outer layer, core or middle layer of mixed plywood and honeycomb (fancy name for cardboard), and the inner fiberglass liner. If any of your deck hardware is not bedded correctly, the rain water can enter the outer layer...

Definitely worth your time to learn how to read the charts. I got into an argument and missed a chance to see PT Barnams mansion from the water, because we misunderstood the ssh markings on the chart. (shoals sounds right, but it's really sand and shells).

Coolest cell phone for sailing.....EVER.... G'zOne from casio. When the sales rep demo'd them for our company, he showed video of the phone being frozen in a bowl of water, dropped from a helicopter, and ran over by a car. It still worked every time.

I've seen one in person. The gentleman who runs the sail-trailors in Columbus Ga has one. He'd probably trade it for a swing keel 26.

NYCSailor,

You should electrify that sail drive. Couple it with an electric motor and the right motor controller and you'd recharge the batteries when you are sailing.

Except for my avatar, I haven't seen "Ya Never Know" in over a month. Too much work, rain, and too little motivation. The current project is scraping, repairing, barrier coating, and bottom painting the inside of the keel pocket. That's a demotivating experience if I've ever had one. Worse...
