Captain Scott is still alive! LOL!
Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I have been on here! Thought I'd drop in and say hi to all! Update on me, Yes, sadly I have sold my last Chrysler boat. I have not restored a Chrysler in years. I have owned many Chryslers over the years including 4 or 5 22's, a Dagger, and even a 20'er....

Back from a sailing trip!
We are home! My bride and I plus two other couples bare boat charted a 48' Catamaran from Moorings in St Lucia!! We all spent the first 3 days on St Lucia touring, eating, drinking and generally fooling around. The next 7 days we spent aboard "Bare Necessities" a 48 Moorings Cat. Given we ...

Re: Chrysler Sailors Looking for a new board owner
Running the forum is pretty straight forward. With good admins taking care f things ( which we have now ) there really is very little for the owner to do. Accepting new members, denying requests that are spam, etc but again the effort is shared with admins. The biggest piece of being the owner is ha...

Re: Boom Gooseneck
If you go to rigrite.com and weed through their menu they have goosenecks that will work for the C22. I've purchased one in the past from them and it worked fine! Just watch the size of the slide!

Welcome to the forum! There several C22 owners in the Puget Sound area! As far as getting on a boat, I am in Everett and my boat is currently on the hard getting the motor replaced. Hopefully she'll be back in the water soon! Other options are local race groups. they are very active here in the PNW ...

Re: Chrysler Sailors Looking for a new board owner
It would be possible however somebodies name must be on the account that hosts the forum. I like the shared responsibilities idea but that would have to be managed. Realistically it is not a lot of work when you have good admins like we have had.

Chrysler Sailors Looking for a new board owner
Hello all my Chrysler Sailor friends. I am looking for a new owner for the Chrysler Sailors Forum. I would like to use this discussion post to start a conversation with all active members here on suggestions. The forum was originally started by another member who graciously stepped down years ago an...

Re: C22 Stern rail
For one of my boats I made a "T" shaped bar for this. The "T" was set in the stern upside down and I welded a "U" shape to the bottom of "T" which held the mast up. I made the leg of the "T" much longer too. That lifted the mast higher and made stepp...

Re: Considering New to me C-20 Daysailor
Welcome to the forum! I briefly owned a C20 however sold it before I ever sailed it. I've regretted that since. The cockpit on the C20 is freakin HUGE! Way more space than the C22. I'd venture 6 adults comfortably in the cockpit all day. The cutty cabin is just that . Tiny space but very functional ...

We are back!
We spent two weeks aboard Destiny in the San Juan Wa and Gulf Islands BC CA!
We had a great time! Managed to see Minke whales, some transient Orca whales, and even a Grey Whale!
We had some mechanical issues but got through them and had a great time!

Re: Rudder
Not necessary.
I've had 4 C22's to date and all had center mounts on the motor.
Typically I ran with rudder down fully all the time. When motoring the motor was locked to keep it from turning and I steer with the tiller/rudder.
Never had an issue.

Re: New to me C22 Concern with Rudder Assembly
Welcome to the forum. For what it is worth, I had a C22 with bent/damaged rudder plates similar to the pictures shown. Found a local welder that could build a new rudder shaft and plates for me very reasonably priced. I also replaced the bushing and do not recall it being a problem finding one. It h...

Re: Rudder
Best thing is to go to our documents page and look at the rigging design of the 22. There is a pair of lines on the rudder itself. One to pull the rudder up and the other to pull it down. There is a jam cleat on the tiller handle to hold the line in use. When I replaced these lines on a C22 I used a...

Re: New to me C26
Consider looking at the raising the mast on a C22. I believe they are very similar. There are many methods here on the forum for stepping the mast. Search for a few of them and take the best of all options that will work for you!

Re: Thoughts on getting water out of the hull
Toe rails and stantions can leak. Portals can leak. Leaving the companion way boards out will leak. Keel pin and plates could leak. So basically anything that created a hole on the glass might leak! LOL! For me, I sail in salt water. I could literally taste the water ( don't swallow ) for salt or fr...

Yeah, if you have disassembled the fuel lines, proper bleeding is likely required for that motor.
Good luck and keep us posted on what you find!

Re: Thoughts on getting water out of the hull
Hello and again welcome to the forum! I installed a "Water Puppy" pump under the companion way near the keel winch. The "out" tube ran under the cockpit and out a drain I had installed well above the water line. The "input" or suction end of the hose I left long enough ...

Hello, I am not familiar with that particular diesel engine however they are generally pretty similar. I will assume you have good fuel. Check all your fuel lines and make sure they are nice and snug! Check the injectors too! We were crossing the Straights of Juan de Fuca in dead calm one year and o...

Re: Time to lift Destiny!
We completed and relaunched Destiny on Sunday morning! NO issues at all. Sanded the bottom, painted the bottom, new zincs, and polished the sides of the hull! Our launch time was 9:30 and the Port was late compliments of the previous boater not being ready. No worries, we sat in the PU and chatted. ...

Re: Time to lift Destiny!
Thanks Dan,
We are expecting very nice weather. We might even hit the 80's!
I prefer the cooler 70's when doing this work but the 80's sure beat rain! LOL!
The outboard on our dink also gets a new impeller this year. Parts are scheduled to arrive Tuesday next week so I'll be a busy guy!

Family is always more important. However if you do make it this way, I'll need fair warning so we schedule some time to visit and play! Yesterday we purchased 2 gallons of Interlux Micron CSC.
