If you look in the dictionary under rough, they have a picture of that boat.
She may still be worthy of a redo.

Billy, that is a good looking storm/stay sail. It is the only sail I'm missing. I was thinking of using some from another boat as well.

Paul I'm going to have to say "a" based on this article: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/SG/SG07100.pdf. Which happens to be one of my favorites on the subject.

Sorry Paul, no intent to highjack. I am in a similar situation. I indeed, put my mast up last week. Our weather has been great, til today. We had one heck of a thunderstorm making me wonder..... The best part is I have a tall rig, so 28foot and change sittin up there. Luckily I have 35' Blac...

Ha, but I'll bet it looks very nice. My absolute favorite lp rig ever was on my good friends Catalina 25. A pair of jumper cables, one on inner stay, one on outer. The other end overboard, works fine at anchor I suppose. Lol

That's a great description. I would think that would work pretty well. There is something strange that happens when your on the water though. I'm no scientist, but when your far away from everything it is all but inevitable that it will find you. I've watched many strikes just hit in open water, whi...

Lightning protection

Wanted to ask opinions here. I have done a great deal of research on lightning protection over the years. I have listened to the " old timers" debate this for many years also. I have just finished up several good, unbiased, articles on just this topic. So I wanted to get some opinions, exp...

Thanks Bill, Click on my photo link below. I have some of my "tinkerings" on there. I like the sailboat over the C22 on the front. then the c22 with the "Chrysler" big on back. I would need to get rid of the "Nautica" sailboat and have the silhouette of an actual chrysl...

To throw my experience in... The air up there is "cleaner" and is more desirable. It will definately add to the heel. If you look at race boats over the years the have changed there sail shape to increase the area at the top of the mast. This is also why Gaff rigs are popular. I have the a...

Simple answer: if u can get your boat "level"; then, the expensive way would be a laser level. ( they can be rented cheap). The cheaper way is a water level. Feel free to expand on this everyone.

Haven't read that one yet.
Without cheating, I shall weather a guess that line is not line when it is "rode" for ground tackle, and when it is made from wire, ie, wire rope. Like stays and lifelines.

Great question.

I only need small things, unless you have a pull-out galley. That would be worth the drive to Jersey.

the straps work awesome Monty. I use two different colors to keep myself organized. The only caution is your bridles have to be perfectly centered on the step or the straps will slack. Tom and Parared explained this very well in the the "mast hinge" topic. Otherwise the line through the br...
