not to be the pessimist......................but wouldn't it be better to have the top snap to the inside so water would shed outside of the boat. I do like the idea though and had something similar in mind as a future project. I was thinking something like a tent door with a screen section behind so the breeze could pass through but not the vicious satanistic mosquito's and sand knats

That most certainly is a better way however I did not have space enough on this boat to slip it up inside. It also would conflict with the locking mechanism. I'd have to split the cover to allow for a pad lock.
I opted to go easy for now. I can however try again on Lady Jo! I have already made the cover for her but have not installed it yet. As I experiment on Lady Di, Lady Jo will reap the benifits!
Two boats help in that process! LOL!
