Post by CaptainScott »

Playing with the sewing machine, here is my new companion way cover!

Not all the snaps are in since it was snowing today I only put a few in!

Thanks Gus,
can you say BLUE!
LOL!

It sure stands out in the snow!

With our weather, it will be GREEN soon enough!

not to be the pessimist......................but wouldn't it be better to have the top snap to the inside so water would shed outside of the boat. I do like the idea though and had something similar in mind as a future project. I was thinking something like a tent door with a screen section behind so the breeze could pass through but not the vicious satanistic mosquito's and sand knats :)

That most certainly is a better way however I did not have space enough on this boat to slip it up inside. It also would conflict with the locking mechanism. I'd have to split the cover to allow for a pad lock.

I opted to go easy for now. I can however try again on Lady Jo! I have already made the cover for her but have not installed it yet. As I experiment on Lady Di, Lady Jo will reap the benifits!

Two boats help in that process! LOL!

Great thoughts though.

I was thinking velcro instead of snaps as well, I get it, you are trying to protect the wood and I am thinking in terms of a covering to use while sailing when the boards are stowed away. Something less cumbersome than three pieces of wood.
